Model 1881 dress helmet plate stamped brass eagle pattern with infantry insignia of two crossed rifles. Eagle is facing right holding olive branch in left talon, and arrows in the right talon. Eagle is holding a ribbon in its beak with the words "E. PLURIBUS UNUM". Eagle has shield in the front with thirteen stars. Four slits in the shield where regimental numbers were attached. Slightly bent, tarnished. Brass is torn on eagle's right wing and right rifle.
