Saber with curved, single edge blade. There is a groove near the back of the blade that runs from the hilt to within 8.5 inches of the tip on both sides of the blade. The grip is wood covered with leather and wound with twisted brass wire. The hand guard or knuckle bow is made of a heavy flat bar bent into a stirrup shape with the quillon ending in a circular shape above the blade. A convex iron backstrap covers one edge of the grip and expands to form a flattened pommel cap. At the base of the grip is an iron ferrule. A portion (1.875 in x 1 in) of the metal on the reverse side has worn away, approx. 12 inches from the tip.
