Size 35 olive drab enlisted man's Pattern 1911 field coat with olive drab cotton lining and five 7/8" brass buttons with eagle design. 5/8" eagle design brass buttons on each shoulder and attaches to epaulette straps. Coat features four front pockets, upper two pockets are 7" wide at bottom, 6" at top, 8" long, bottom two pockets 8" wide at bottom, 7" at top 8 1/2" long. Button holes on pockets vertical and attach to 5/8" eagle design buttons. Collar is standup style with two hooks and eyes for closure. Coat features front seams which run 1 3/4" from collar edge diagonally under top pockets to top of bottom pocket 7" in from front closure and runs about 3" below bottom pockets and tapers off. Sewn on right sleeve, about 5 1/2" from shoulder is a 3 1/2" x 3 1/4" oval olive drab patch with embroidered crossed hammers centered above two laurel leaf crescents meeting at bottom center with the letter "A" embroidered there. This is the insignia for Chief Mechanic 1907-1918 sometimes called Artificer. At front closure beneath button holes are two metal hooks 3 1/4" apart which attach onto two threaded eye hooks on the right side of the coat. A cotton coat hook is sewn on inside back collar approximately 2 3/8" long.
