Abstract	The proceedings from CSI's fifth annual Military History Symposium held 11-13 September 2007 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Topics covered the challenges associated with conflict between nation states and transnational religious, ethnic, or criminal groups. Also historical experiences of both the US and other nations to gain insights from the past and guidance into the future. All papers and presentations as well as transcriptions of question and answer periods are included.
